2026

Week 12

Sécure Lodge

A 16-pound female dorado came out of water that looked far too small to hold her, and on the last afternoon the wind covered El Cañón with leaves and flowers until the pacú started feeding underneath.

Agua Negra Lodge

Falling rivers turned the week into one long hunt. Carlos finally got the situations he had come back three times for, and Jordon closed the trip with a dorado over 20 pounds landed after his rod broke mid-fight.

Pluma Lodge

Keith hooked a big dorado on the very first cast of his trip. Between crystal-clear water, hot days and a couple of tapirs along the bank, nobody at Pluma waited long for something to happen.

Week 11

Sécure Lodge

Nine large dorado took our flies this week, and nine times a 40-pound leader came back broken. Then the rain came, the river rose, and the week turned into something larger than the fish nobody managed to land.

Agua Negra Lodge

Heavy rain raised the rivers and set the whole system hunting: sábalo on the move, cormorants along the banks, and dorado everywhere. Ross found the biggest on a very short cast, and Ralph and Dave landed eleven in a single hour.

Pluma Lodge

As the river climbed and lost its clarity, a 95-centimeter dorado came out of a pocket to eat a mouse on the surface. It was one of several fish taken on top during a week that changed character twice.

Week 10

Sécure Lodge

Seven guests who had never met found a connection to rival the jungle’s own. Two 24-pound female dorado shared Catch of the Week, with 20- and 21-pound fish from shallow upstream water.

Agua Negra Lodge

Charles and Alex came back for the week the weather had owed them. Dorado over 20 pounds, three pacú, and Charles’s biggest fish to date.

Pluma Lodge

Two surubí, several large dorado, and high stained water after a major rain event. Plus a French wine lesson the lodge manager may live to regret.

Week 9

Sécure Lodge

The unwavering pulse of the jungle beat a little faster: a simultaneous 16- and 12-pound double hookup, a 20-pound dorado, a pacú on the dead drift, and an encounter with a giant predator.

Agua Negra Lodge

Five longtime friends, plenty of fishing and plenty of fun. Clear tributaries, low water and dorado at sight, with laughter never far from the river.

Pluma Lodge

Crystal-clear water and strong sunshine made for excellent sight fishing, with a large dorado on a rat imitation and encounters with tapirs and jaguars along the river.

Week 8

Sécure Lodge

In the words of the lodge team, almost cinematic. Six friends, an exceptional number of fish landed, and a 21-pound dorado saved after a rod broke mid-fight.

Agua Negra Lodge

Larry and David, both 82 and strangers until that week, built a friendship over low-water dorado, pacú, and an unforgettable night camping deep in the Amazon.

Pluma Lodge

Warm temperatures, plenty of sunshine and excellent water clarity made this a week built for sight-fishing, with a shallow-water dorado and a dry-fly pacú.

Week 7

Sécure Lodge

Six anglers, four from the United States and two from Europe, for a week that challenged expectations from the start. Persistent rain and rapidly changing rivers never stopped the fishing.

Agua Negra Lodge

Steve Berry returned to Tsimane joined by four friends. A fantastic week with a great group of anglers who made the most of every opportunity the rivers had to offer.

Pluma Lodge

Heavy rain arrived during the second half and the rivers rose quickly. It proved no obstacle: anglers kept finding opportunities right through to the end of the week.

Week 6

Sécure Lodge

Four anglers from France and two from Switzerland met Amazonian dorado for the first time, starting under overcast skies before a storm in the headwaters changed the river overnight.

Agua Negra Lodge

Excellent fishing despite a significant rise early in the trip: great water on opening day, a major overnight rise after heavy rain, then a rapid return to productive conditions.

Pluma Lodge

A downpour stained the rivers early, then sunshine and improving clarity took over. Guests from six countries found productive fishing and remarkable wildlife encounters.

Week 5

Sécure Lodge

Six anglers joined us, four from the United States and a father-and-son team from South Africa. Variable weather and shifting rivers shaped the week, yet the fishing stayed consistently productive.

Agua Negra Lodge

Tony, Ben and Chris, longtime friends who have spent years traveling the world to fish together, found low, clear rivers and quality dorado across the system.

Pluma Lodge

Variable weather defined the week. River conditions kept evolving, and by the final days clearer water opened excellent opportunities with consistently active fish.

Week 4

Four anglers, one remarkable week. Changing temperatures kept the guides adapting, and Sécure produced something rarely seen so often: double hook-ups.

Agua Negra Lodge

A week defined by opportunity. Stable weather, excellent river conditions and two overnight camps created constant chances for dorado and pacú across the system.

Pluma Lodge

Rain, cold, and a single day of sunshine. None of it stopped the fishing, and the week became a reminder that perfect conditions are not a requirement.

Week 3

Sécure Lodge

Conventional wisdom says cold water slows dorado down. This week Sécure proved otherwise, with fish of every size hunting continuously across the watershed.

Pluma Lodge

Pluma ended the week with what every fly angler hopes to see: crystal-clear water. Visibility improved day after day as the sábalo migration kept feeding the system.

Week 2

Sécure Lodge

Sécure opened its 2026 season under cool air and colder water, with excellent river levels and a stock of dorado built by a summer of abundant rain.

Agua Negra Lodge

The migration kept coming. Schools of sábalo arrived throughout the watershed and dorado hunted actively across every river in the system, despite cool days and slightly stained water.

Pluma Lodge

The sábalo migration didn’t stop after opening week, it simply kept moving. High, slightly stained rivers and stable weather kept anglers on the fish every day.

Week 1

Agua Negra Lodge

Some seasons begin with uncertainty. This one began with the arrival of the fish: large numbers of migrating sábalo entered the system, bringing dorado with them.

Pluma Lodge

The season opened with the sign every Pluma guide hopes to see. As schools of sábalo pushed upstream, dorado followed close behind across both the Classic and Heli Fishing programs.

2025

Week 1

Our heli-fishing season launched on Sunday and delivered an unforgettable seven-day jungle adventure for our guests from Finland and the United States.

Week 2

This past week brought excellent fishing conditions, with just a touch of rain to keep the jungle fresh. A strong migration of sábalo (South American shad) arrived in force, triggering aggressive feeding behavior from the dorado.

Week 3

We had the pleasure of hosting 14 guests from the United States this week at Pluma Lodge. It turned out to be a fantastic week of fishing, with a strong presence of dorado and plenty of pacu.

Week 4

This week brought a variety of fishing conditions, shaped largely by cooler water temperatures—especially during the early mornings. Some days started off slow, with dorados and other species showing less activity in the chilled flows. But as the sun rose and gradually warmed the water, the action picked up, leading to some truly rewarding late-morning and afternoon sessions.

Week 5

We were thrilled to welcome anglers from both the United States and Korea, fishing as part of our helifishing program. The remote access offered by the helicopter allowed us to reach untouched waters and deliver memorable fishing experiences.
It was a fantastic week overall, with strong numbers, healthy fish, and plenty of golden memories made on the water.

Week 6

We found plenty of dorado and yatorana in both the upper and lower sections, and used a dynamic mix of classic streamers and topwater flies to great success. While the cooler water made pacú a bit more elusive, we still managed to entice a few—some even took seed imitations and gave us epic battles!

Week 7

We spent most of our time exploring the tributaries on foot, and the rewards were well worth the walk. The Chimoro and Agua Negra creeks delivered in a big way, producing excellent pacu and beautiful dorados in tight, shallow waters—the kind of technical, close-quarters fishing we love!

Week 8

Our waters delivered non-stop action with spectacular dorados, hard-fighting pacus, and trophy-sized yatoranas. As temperatures climb, the dorados are more aggressive than ever—serving up adrenaline-packed battles you won’t forget.We had the pleasure of hosting 14 passionate anglers from the U.S., and every single one left with stories (and photos) of epic catches.

Week 9

Last week blessed us with excellent weather, low water levels, and plenty of fish activity across the rivers. Both groups had the chance to explore every stretch of our waters—including the outcamp at the Agua Negra.Fishing conditions were outstanding. Each day brought more than 20 small to medium dorados to hand, along with several thrilling encounters with true giants.

Week 10

This week brought steady, action-packed fishing with fantastic catches of pacú, yatorana, and dorado. The bite was on fire, with fish aggressively attacking dry flies—mouse and grasshopper patterns were the clear winners.Dorado, the ultimate jungle predator, delivered explosive topwater strikes on rat and mouse imitations, once again proving why they’re the crown jewel of these rivers.

Week 11

This week delivered absolutely spectacular fishing, with nonstop action on the water! Pacu were especially active, eagerly smashing dry flies under the warm, sunny skies—a true thrill for anglers. The dorado bite was equally unforgettable, with countless explosive strikes as they hunted schools of sábalos. We were also delighted to welcome guests from the United States and Canada, who experienced these incredible conditions firsthand and created unforgettable memories on the river.

Week 12

This week’s fishing was absolutely outstanding! Even with two days of heavy rain, the action never slowed down — we landed incredible dorados, powerful pacus, and aggressive yatoranas on poppers and floating flies. Once the skies cleared, the river conditions improved even more, and the fishing turned phenomenal, with nonstop excitement and remarkable catches. We were thrilled to host clients from Canada and the United States, who fully enjoyed the unforgettable adventure and world-class fishing!

Week 13

This week brought another incredible adventure on the water! Our anglers from the Netherlands and the United States enjoyed outstanding fishing for dorados, pacú, and yatoranas. The action was nonstop, with rat and mouse patterns proving to be the stars of the week—while a few hungry pacú even rose to take dry flies off the surface.With such remarkable catches and exciting moments every day, it was truly an unforgettable week on the river. The fishing remains on fire, and the season continues to deliver at its best!

Week 14

The fishing this week has been nothing short of phenomenal! Our guests enjoyed nonstop action with hard-fighting pacu, golden dorado, and energetic yatorana. The pacu exploded on insect and fruit patterns, the yatorana eagerly chased down small streamers, and the dorado delivered thrilling strikes on sabalito imitations.It was an unforgettable adventure shared with our passionate guests from the United States, who experienced firsthand why this season is delivering peak fly fishing conditions. Simply put—Bolivia’s jungle rivers are on fire, offering the kind of action every angler dreams of!

Week 15

This week brought incredible action in the Bolivian Tsimane rivers! With high temperatures firing up the pacú, we experienced outstanding fishing conditions. Our anglers also landed spectacular dorado and yatorana on dry flies — a true highlight of the season. We had the pleasure of hosting guests from South Africa, who left absolutely thrilled after an unforgettable week of adventure, world-class fishing, and authentic jungle experiences with Untamed Angling.

Week 16

This week at Sécure Lodge, we had the pleasure of hosting six guests, all joining us from the United States.The weather treated us well, with consistently warm days and nights that created excellent fishing conditions throughout the week. Our anglers enjoyed action across all the beats — from the upper and lower sections of the main river to the smaller creeks — with opportunities to target dorado of all sizes.Topwater fishing was especially exciting, with plenty of golden dorados exploding on surface flies and a strong presence of yatoranas adding to the fun. As water temperatures rose, the pacú activity went through the roof, providing thrilling surface strikes and unforgettable moments with these powerful jungle fish on classic pacú streamers.

Week 17

This week, Sécure Lodge welcomed five anglers for the 14th chapter of the season — four returning guests: Matt and Tobias, along with Sara and Matt Jenkins, hosted by Matt Heron, who had visited us a few seasons ago.The week began with hot and sunny days until Wednesday, when a refreshing rain raised the river just a few inches. Fortunately, the water remained clear and clean, creating ideal fishing conditions across the system. The result was exceptional fishing, with medium to large golden dorados actively hunting in shallow bays, corners, and tailouts — offering a fun and steady game during the last two days.The pacú activity was nothing short of spectacular. The “black plates” were on fire from start to finish, delivering what was easily the best pacú week of the season for this incredible sport species.

Week 18

During the last three days, as the water settled and temperatures stabilized, the fishing improved steadily — a hallmark of post-rain magic at Sécure. The group experienced unforgettable moments on both creeks, landing powerful pacúes on topwater flies, connecting with dorados on signature “black plate” streamers, and celebrating golden trophies over 15 pounds.
It was a week filled with energy, laughter, and world-class jungle fishing — the perfect prelude to the season’s grand finale.

2024

Week 1

A new season has begun, and the levels of the rivers are very promising. Most of the rivers have a very good water level, which favors the migrations of both sábalo and dorado.
The first week of the season gave us the chance to fish with four old friends from the USA: Steven, Rick, Murph, and Jerry.

Week 2

The second week of the season gave us the chance to fish with four friends from Montana: Jo, Josh, Aron, and Jeff.
At the beginning of the week, we had a great arrival of sábalo and minnows which gave us the chance to fish very good dorados, four large pacú, and several yatoranas following the migration and taking advantage of the dorados feeding.

Week 3

We opened the season with a lot of sábalo arriving in both the Secure and Pluma rivers. The fishing has been very good with many catches, and we’ve observed many dorado hunting in all the fishing beats.

Week 4

Week of the season began with a lot of rain, but that did not prevent us from catching good-sized dorado, with several catches around 14 and 16 pounds.A new season has begun, and the levels of the rivers are very promising. Most of the rivers have a very good water level, which favors the migrations of both sábalo and dorado.

Week 5

This week Sécure Lodge hosted a group of five anglers from different parts of the world: Singapore, the Netherlands, and the USA were part of our week number four.
We began with cooler and higher water due to the rains of the last week. We fished the upper sections as the water conditions improved more quickly there—the dorado started moving near the shores, pushing us to fish shallow waters with floating lines. By midweek with temperatures more regular, fishing activity turned on and we found a good amount of fish in the main river as well as the tributaries.

Week 6

The lower beat was the most productive in the “cachuelas” section, as a good pack of hungry dorado were smashing sabalo against the banks. Both Maniquicito and Ashahana Creeks gave us good chances as well, with feeding frenzies and dorado in shallow waters.

Week 7

Being persistent and casting all day long under rain and wind finally paid off, with the team landing good-sized dorado in the 8 and 16-lb. range in the lower beats. Despite the low water temperature, we found pacú in the deeper pools with fruit imitation as well as dark, short flies.

2023

Week 1

Another season starts here at Sécure Lodge. The long wait is already over and we’re back in the water, surrounded by the green forest, blue skies, clear waters, and hungry dorado! This week we hosted a group of seven anglers from all over America; fishermen from Bolivia, Brazil, and the United States came looking for fresh golden bullion.

Week 2

The second week of the season began with the arrival of six friends from France and the UK. The week started with very good water and weather conditions, but for some reason the big dorado were not active. We still managed to land a few small ones.

Week 3

The third week of the season brought us a blend of nationalities from all over the world, from the Bahamas, to Switzerland, the United States, Italy, and Argentina.

Week 4

The fourth week of the season started off with warming temperatures and good water conditions, and though in the lower and middle beats the fishing is still being a bit slow, the creeks and the headwaters produced a good number of opportunities and fish landed.

Week 5

The fifth week of the season started with very good water and weather conditions. We welcomed a group of four friends from the U.K. who arrived ready to explore the jungle and walk miles and miles every day.

Week 6

Last week we fished with three friends from the United States. The weather was good all week and the fishing even better; the first days of the week we found a large group of migratory sábalo and many dorados attacking them. We were able to follow that group for several days and caught many dorados between 6 and 15 Ibs. We also managed to capture three pacú in the Agua Negra River.

Week 7

It was our first week of the second season of the helifishing program. We had the pleasure of hosting our friends Helmut and Vaidas, both repeats, who shared a good time and have been fishing with both us and Marcelo Perez. We had the chance to fish the headwaters of several of the rivers in our basin, with good results despite the rains on the last day of fishing.

Week 8

Week eight started with cold nights and mild temperatures during the day due to the southern storm the previous week. With the water clearing and warming up in about two days, we decided to fish the regular beats instead of the headwaters.

Week 9

On the ninth week of the season we hosted eight American anglers at Pluma Lodge.We experienced good weather conditions on the first few days, making medium and large dorado very active; we also caught pacú on streamers, and even catfish! In the middle of the week rain appeared and made the river rise.

Week 10

Fishing was difficult in the main Sécure River due to the big change caused by the last significant rain, and the water remained colored. The Agua Negra and Chimoro were the waters that gave us the most chances this week, and we were able to catch several good dorado, a pacú, and some yatorana, but unfortunately due to the technical fishing in clear waters we could not land many of the fish that we had on.

Week 11

In the fifth week of the helifishing program, we hosted a group of nine friendly fishermen, some from Australia and others from the United States. Led by Joshua, they alternated between heli and regular program, giving everyone the chance to experience different environments, from the headwaters where the rivers are small with crystal-clear waters, to those surrounding of the lodge where there is concentration of fish and feeding frenzies.

Week 12

Last week we had the chance to fish with four anglers from the USA: Jason, Perry, Kipp, and his son Hawk. The fishing was good, mostly on the tributaries and some days on the main Sécure.

Week 13

In this, our seventh week of the helifishing program, we had the pleasure of receiving several repeat guests: Mussil’s father and son, Bob, all from the United States, and a couple from Russia, Alena and Oleg, who have shared many good times with us in every Tsimané destination. Both the weather and the fishing were on our side, and we were able to fly to various environments and enjoy the benefits of being one of the very few people who set foot on the headwaters.

Week 14

On the fourteenth week of the season at Pluma Lodge we hosted six American and two Australian anglers. Water levels reached the lowest of the season due to the dry season, and all rivers in the system were crystal clear, perfect for sight casting situations.

Week 15

Last week we had the chance to fish with five friends from the United States: John and Ryder who visited us for the second time, Bob and Chuck for the first time, and Adam who completed his fifth time fishing in Tsimané. The weather was good with very high temperatures some days, which made fishing in the Sécure complicated since the water was very hot.

Week 16

Last week, after many days without rain, we were lucky to have a front in the middle of the week that made the rivers rise slightly, giving us better chances, mainly in the tributaries. We had the greatest pleasure to meet George, Will, Campbell and Colter, four friends from USA who enjoyed the best jungle experience.

Week 17

During the week we faced a big enemy: the weather. Extreme heat prevailed and a huge rain at the beginning of the week stained the rivers, but once again we took advantage of the benefit of having a helicopter at our disposal. We were able to fish clear water every day and completed a successful week with good catches on top water.

Week 18

The water condition was low and warm everywhere, particularly downstream, on the lower sections. Despite that, the biggest fish of the week was hooked there, playing on surface a Titanic slider in a narrow channel—a monster which bent a Tiemco 600SP and won the fight.

Week 19

This week for the nineteenth chapter for Sécure Lodge we welcomed a team of eight fishermen hosted by Vance Freed from WorldCast Anglers, most of them repeat guests who shared a fishing week with us two seasons ago.
