Week 15  |  September 12 – 19, 2026

Two Pacú, One Sequence

Week 15 brought Vladimir’s group to Pluma: eleven anglers from Russia and Bulgaria, and a week of good fishing, quality dorado, and particularly strong pacú activity.

For several members of the group, this week at Pluma was only the first stop of their fishing trip. The next week, some would go to Brazil, others would stay with us at Pluma, and Oleg would be spending the next week with us at Tariquía Lodge, a story told in the Tariquía Week 6 report.

The river began slightly colored before clearing completely, eventually settling into good levels and temperatures.

Among the week’s most unusual moments was a pacú double involving our guide Alvaro, Maxim, and Andrey: after one fish was hooked, another moved in close enough to create a second opportunity, and the sequence ended with two pacú connected in the same encounter.

Pacú also responded to mouse imitations during the week, while several quality dorado rounded out a productive trip.

Anglers

11 Vladimir, Nikolay, Maxim, Ivan, Alexander, Rodion, Andrey, Maksim, Denis & Oleg (Russia); Stiliyan (Bulgaria).

Weather

The week alternated between sunny and cloudy conditions. Temperatures were moderate rather than intensely hot, but remained comfortable throughout the trip.

Water

Pluma began the week with slightly colored water. As the days progressed, the river cleared completely and settled into good levels and good temperatures, creating increasingly favorable fishing conditions.

One Pacú Brought Another

The standout encounter, guided by Alvaro, began with one hooked pacú.

Then another fish approached.

That second opportunity developed quickly, and with Maxim and Andrey involved in the sequence, the group managed to turn the moment into an unusual pacú double.

What started with a single fish suddenly became one of the most memorable situations of the week.

Memorable Moments

Pacú on Mice, Dorado in Numbers

Pacú remained one of the dominant species of Week 15.

The group encountered numerous fish, including a couple taken on mouse imitations, while several quality dorado added consistent action throughout the trip.

The combination gave Pluma a week with strong variety both in species and presentations.

The Week at Pluma

By the end of the week, the river was clear, holding good levels, and carrying favorable water temperatures.

With pacú active and several quality dorado already in the system, Pluma closed Week 15 in strong fishing condition.
