Big Dorado in Tapir Country
Week 12 brought a fun group of anglers from the United States to Pluma, along with excellent weather, crystal-clear water, and very good fishing throughout the trip.
And there was very little waiting around for things to happen.
Keith landed a large dorado on the very first cast of his trip, while Rob and Alvaro began another day with a great dorado in the opening casts. Add a couple of tapir sightings along the river, and Pluma delivered a week in which memorable moments seemed to arrive early and often.

The weather remained excellent throughout the week, with hot days accompanying the group on the river.
Pluma remained in excellent shape, with very clear water and good river levels throughout the week. The stable conditions provided a consistent setting for fishing from beginning to end.

A Great Way to Start the Day
Sometimes the day’s defining moment comes before you’ve had much time to settle in.
During the first casts of the morning, Rob and Alvaro connected with a large dorado, immediately setting the tone for what would become another excellent day of fishing at Pluma.
Few things change the mood of a fishing day faster than a big dorado arriving almost as soon as the rods come out.

A First-Cast Dorado in Tapir Country
Keith didn’t need time to warm up.
On the first cast of his entire trip, he connected with a large dorado.
There are plenty of ways to begin a week at Pluma. This one is difficult to improve on.
And the week offered a few quieter encounters as well. Along the river, the group spotted a couple of tapirs, one of those moments that briefly pulls your attention away from the fishing and reminds you that every day at Pluma unfolds inside a much larger ecosystem.
Looking Ahead
Hot weather, crystal-clear water, good river levels and strong fishing gave Pluma a remarkably consistent Week 12.
From Keith’s very first cast to Rob and Alvaro’s early-morning dorado, this was a week when anglers rarely had to wait long for something to happen.
