The Secure river is born in the confluence of the Nutusama and Cascarillas streams. Along its first sectors the river goes from north to south moreover, between the Mosetenes and the Eva Eva mountains. It’s one of the tributaries of the Mamoré river, which runs to the Madeira river, one of the main tributaries of the Amazon itself.The Secure river here is extremely beautiful with crystal clear waters, wedged among mountains and pristine jungle. This fishery allows anglers an extremely close and exciting contact with the jungle.The means of transportation are handmade Chiman wood dugout canoes (cuambas) powered by pushing poles or engines, but the fishing is 100% wet wading, with many chances for sight casting. On the higher Sécure section there are dorado over 30 pounds, many of them residents. There are also a lot of pacu, moturo, surubi and yatorana, which are excellent species for practicing different fishing techniques. Upstream from the lodge, there’s two small tributaries (The Ashahana and the Maniquicito creeks) which hold really big dorado in tiny crystal clear waters.The middle sector of the Sécure River runs downstream from the Lodge to the Ushwea Village. This section of the river is shallow and open, with sand flats and log structures, similar to the rivers further down on the plain regions. Its clear waters gradually becomes sandy due to tributaries that sweep sediments from the high plateau.
